Our marks, criterion by criterion
Price per GB
4.1Prices in euros, low on data-volume plans: 1 GB for 7 days for €2.99 in Thailand and €3.99 in Japan, 10 GB for 30 days for €5.99 in Turkey, €7.99 in France and €8.99 in Japan, 50 GB for 30 days for €19.99 in Turkey. Unlimited gets expensive over a month: €24.99 in Turkey, €44.99 in Japan, €69.99 in the United States.
Coverage
4.5196 countries in the eSIMrat catalog and 15 multi-country plans: Global (190 countries), Global+ (164 countries, with minutes and texts), Europe (41 countries), Europe & UK (28), Scandinavia, Balkans, Asia (18), Southeast Asia, Middle East and North Africa, Africa (36), Safari (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda), North America, Latin America (17), Caribbean (25) and Oceania.
App
3.6JamboSim app on the App Store and Google Play, published by Goomla B.V. The eSIM also arrives by email, with a QR code and, on compatible iPhones, a direct installation link; the site's "My eSIMs" area shows the QR code, the activation code and the APN settings. A free account is required to buy.
Support
3.1Instant help, 24/7 and in 10 languages, comes from JamboBot, an AI assistant. To reach a human, you write by email (help@jambosim.com) or through the form, with a reply promised within 24 hours. On Trustpilot, JamboSim is rated 4.0 out of 5 from 32 reviews.
Transparency
4.0Each plan names its carriers (SoftBank and KDDI in Japan, Bouygues and Orange in France, T-Mobile and Verizon in the United States) and the 4G/5G network. The FAQ spells out unlimited (3 GB per day at full speed, then about 1 Mbps until midnight local time) and warns that the IP address is not always from the country you are in.
Flexibility
3.3Durations from 1 to 365 days, unlimited from 1 to 30 days. Validity starts at the first connection at your destination, a top-up can kick in on its own when the plan runs out, and auto-renewal is optional. Refunds are strict: only if the eSIM is faulty, charged twice or never received, with a request within 30 days; nothing if the eSIM was installed or if your trip changes.
Technical note
An overview of JamboSim's performance across 6 criteria
How we score
This score is eSIMrat's own, not an average of customer reviews. It covers six criteria we assess ourselves from the catalogue's real coverage, the prices we record, and test purchases and installs. We earn a commission on sales made through our links: it changes neither the score nor the order of our rankings, which stay sorted by price per GB.
The eSIMrat verdict
JamboSim, a brand of the Dutch company Goomla B.V., targets travelers who want to pay in euros for a cheap data-volume plan, with very wide coverage (196 countries, 15 multi-country plans) and an iOS and Android app. On the other hand, instant help comes from an AI assistant (a human answers by email within 24 hours), unlimited is capped at 3 GB per day at full speed, and refunds only cover failures: a cancelled trip is not refunded.
Good for
- Small and medium data volumes paid in euros (10 GB for 30 days at €7.99 in France)
- Trips across several countries or continents, with a Global plan covering 190 countries
- Stays in the United States with minutes and texts included (1 GB, 10 texts and 10 minutes for 7 days for €3.99)
Less suited if
- You want a refund if your trip is cancelled
- You want unlimited data without a daily speed cap
- You are looking for excellent value for money with an eSIM that is easy to install, an app that is easy to use, and 24/7 human support (→ voilà eSIM)

If something goes wrong

Frequently asked questions
For a week in Europe with typical use (GPS, messaging, social media), 5 GB is plenty. For streaming or tethering, aim for 10 GB. Our data usage calculator gives you the order of magnitude in thirty seconds.
It depends on the plan: most travel eSIMs allow tethering, some cap or exclude it. The plan page on JamboSim's site states it, so read it before paying.
An eSIM works on most smartphones released after 2019: iPhone XS and later, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, Google Pixel 3 and later. Your phone must be carrier-unlocked. Our eSIM-compatible phones page lists the models.
Yes. Most recent smartphones handle a physical SIM (calls, texts, your number) and an eSIM from JamboSim (mobile data) side by side. You keep your usual number and use the eSIM for the Internet.
Contact JamboSim support with your order number. A plan that was never installed is usually refundable, an activated profile rarely is. The exact policy is in the provider's terms of sale.
A travel eSIM gives you ordinary Internet access. Any restrictions (China, Iran) come from the network of the country you visit, and the plan page says so when the provider documents them.
It depends on the provider: some top up the same profile from the app, others sell a new plan to install. At JamboSim, the rule is on the plan page and in your account.
