Our marks, criterion by criterion
Price per GB
4.2Well placed on small volumes: in France, 3 GB over 7 days for $3.30, 5 GB over 30 days for $4.80, 10 GB over 30 days for $8.80, 30 GB for $20.80. The 2 GB day pass starts at $2.80 a day. Dollar prices only, converted to euros at the ECB rate in our comparison.
Coverage
4.5196 countries in the esimrat catalogue, plus 18 regional zones (Europe, Asia, North America, Caribbean, Middle East, Africa, Latin America, worldwide…). Carriers and network generations (4G, 5G) listed country by country on every plan, which few competitors do.
App
4.0eSIMX app (iOS and Android): one-tap install from the app or via a quick-install link, QR code and manual codes emailed and shown on the order page, usage tracking under "My eSIMs". Site and product pages in French, Spanish, Italian and German.
Support
2.9eSIMX advertises 24/7 support over chat, email and phone. On Trustpilot (38 reviews), five-star reviews praise a responsive service; one-star reviews (a third of them) describe instructions arriving hours after purchase, far less data than bought, or a refund refused.
Transparency
3.1A "30-day money-back guarantee" on the product pages, but the help centre's refund policy speaks of 14 days to file the request and excludes any eSIM not installed within a month: two texts that do not say the same thing. The day pass gives 2 GB a day then 128 kbps, written in the plan's name. Prices shown in dollars, even on the French pages.
Flexibility
3.7From 1 GB over 7 days to 100 GB over 30 days, 2 GB day passes from 1 to 30 days, a few plans with calls (Thailand, Australia, UK, Mongolia, Maldives, Europe, worldwide). No top-up: a used-up plan is replaced by a new eSIM. Up to 5 eSIMs per order.
Technical note
An overview of eSIMX's performance across 6 criteria
How we score
This score is eSIMrat's own, not an average of customer reviews. It covers six criteria we assess ourselves from the catalogue's real coverage, the prices we record, and test purchases and installs. We earn a commission on sales made through our links: it changes neither the score nor the order of our rankings, which stay sorted by price per GB.
The eSIMrat verdict
eSIMX is a US brand (Skylark Connect LLC, Wyoming) selling in dollars across 196 countries and 18 regional zones, with one real strength: carriers and 4G/5G are listed country by country on every plan. Small volumes are well placed (in France, 3 GB over 7 days for $3.30, 10 GB over 30 days for $8.80) and the 2 GB day pass starts at $2.80. The things to know: no top-up, dollar prices even on the French pages, a "30-day" guarantee on the product pages that becomes 14 days in the refund policy, and a Trustpilot rating of 3.1 out of 5 with a third of one-star reviews.

How to install your eSIM with eSIMX
Buy your plan
Buy on esimx.com, in dollars. The QR code, a quick-install link and the manual codes arrive by email as soon as payment clears and stay visible on your order page.
Pick your destination
Choose your destination and your data plan.
Scan the QR code
Pay and scan the QR code to install the eSIM.
Get connected
Install the eSIM before departure: validity only starts at the first connection to the local network. On landing, turn on the eSIMX line, select it for data and enable roaming: activation is automatic. Note that an eSIM not installed within a month is no longer refundable.
If something goes wrong
Check that your phone is eSIM-compatible and unlocked, wait for the emailed instructions (a Trustpilot review describes a failed first attempt for starting too early), then scan the QR code over Wi-Fi or go through the eSIMX app. A "no longer available" code means the single-use QR code was already scanned: contact support over chat, email or phone.
Check in order: the plan has not expired, you have actually arrived (validity starts at the first local connection), the plan you bought covers this country, and data roaming is on for the eSIMX line. Try selecting by hand one of the carriers listed on the plan's page. Otherwise, write to support during the trip: they offer a free replacement before any refund.
Look at per-app usage in your phone's settings to spot the hungry apps. Turn off automatic updates and high-resolution video playback. Your remaining data shows in your eSIMX account, or in its app when there is one.
Look for eSIMX's order email, spam folder included: it holds the QR code, the quick-install link and the manual codes. Otherwise, log in on esimx.com or in the eSIMX app: your order page shows them too.
What users say
Reviews synthesised from the App Store, Google Play and online feedback. We do not republish reviews word for word: we summarise the trend.
- ★★★★★Trustpilot
eSIM bought for Turkey after two other providers had failed: connected fine, service judged excellent.
- ★★★★★Trustpilot
Works well, good price, very prompt support to sort out a coupon issue.
- ★★★★☆Trustpilot
Install failed on the first attempt, worked on the second: the advice is to wait for the emailed instructions before doing anything.
- ★☆☆☆☆Trustpilot
A month of unlimited paid for, but the eSIM only worked for the last ten days, and support brought no solution.
- ★☆☆☆☆Trustpilot
A 20 GB Poland plan bought, but only 600 MB usable before the cut-off.

Frequently asked questions
In France, eSIMX sells 3 GB over 7 days for $3.30, 5 GB over 30 days for $4.80, 10 GB over 30 days for $8.80 and 30 GB over 30 days for $20.80. The 2 GB-a-day pass (then 128 kbps) costs $2.80 for 1 day, $7.80 for 7 days and $31.80 for 30 days. Dollar prices, checked on 16 Sep 2026.
Yes, every plan in the catalogue allows tethering: just turn on the phone's hotspot. On the day pass, shared data counts against the day's 2 GB at full speed.
An eSIM works on most smartphones released after 2019: iPhone XS and later, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, Google Pixel 3 and later. Your phone must be carrier-unlocked. Our eSIM-compatible phones page lists the models.
Yes. Most recent smartphones handle a physical SIM (calls, texts, your number) and an eSIM from eSIMX (mobile data) side by side. You keep your usual number and use the eSIM for the Internet.
Product pages advertise 30 days money-back as long as the eSIM is not activated. The help centre's refund policy is stricter: request within 14 days of purchase, no refund if the eSIM was used even partially, nor if it was not installed within a month. For an unresolved technical failure, support first offers a free replacement.
A travel eSIM gives you ordinary Internet access. Any restrictions (China, Iran) come from the network of the country you visit, and the plan page says so when the provider documents them.
No. eSIMX says so on its product pages: top-up is not offered yet. A used-up or expired plan is replaced by buying a new eSIM.
